AskMax.je – Jersey’s new AML chatbot

Cyan Regulatory is delighted to have teamed up with local digital agency Blue Llama to produce a ground-breaking digital tool to help Jersey businesses navigate the intricacies of the Island’s AML/CFT/CPF regime.

The new chatbot, ‘MaxAMLian’ or ‘Max’, is an artificial intelligence (AI) powered assistant which has been trained on over 250,000 words from relevant legislation, regulation and guidance issued by the Jersey Financial Services Commission and is able to provide a summary of the requirements and links to the relevant documents. Whilst the technology is only experimental, we’ve conducted extensive testing and uploaded additional information to improve some answers and we hope everyone in the industry will find Max to be a useful tool. 

Anyone can visit the AskMax.je website, and use a simple chat interface to type questions to Max. You’ll get a response in real-time, eliminating the need to trawl through multiple regulatory documents.  It’s hoped that Max will make getting AML help easy and reduce the demands on businesses’ compliance teams, and what’s best - for the time being it’s free and anonymous too!  

Key features of the Max chatbot include:

1. Instant guidance: Users can easily converse and receive immediate responses, including the ability to check back to the original documents.  
2. User-friendly: The chatbot is easy and intuitive to use, with users able to ask follow-up questions and provide feedback on the answers received.
3. 24/7 availability: The chatbot is available around the clock, providing on-demand support to users whenever they need assistance.
4. Free!: Ask MaxAMLian is being offered at no charge during the initial trial period. You don’t even need to provide an email address.

We’ll continue to monitor Max’s performance over the coming weeks and would very much welcome feedback from users as we decide how to take the project forward.

This is the first of the Altair Group’s Innovation Team projects to be launched externally; we’ve a busy year ahead with more projects to follow. Collaborations with technological experts such as Blue Llama will play a key role in our work.
