Altair appoints Niall Husbands as a Client Director & Consultant
Altair, the Independent Governance and Consultancy specialist, welcomes Niall Husbands.
Niall is a qualified investment and banking professional with extensive leadership and regulated board experience internationally, holding senior general management positions in wealth management and fiduciary services. He led substantial financial services businesses across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa for a global bank, and since 2012 has specialised in fiduciary services in Jersey, notably in the Funds and Private Wealth sectors.
Niall has extremely detailed awareness of the financial services commercial landscape and its surrounding ecosystem, coupled with practical experience of investment and wealth proposition design.
At Altair, Niall's priority is on enabling his clients to focus on their core offering. He does this by providing clarity and perspective, helping identify operating frameworks to simplify processes. This typically results in cost efficiencies, and often a revenue opportunity.
Niall was co-opted to the Board of Trustees of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust at the start of 2024 and chairs the investment oversight committee. In addition, he sits on the Membership Committee of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and was previously the President of the Jersey Branch. He was a co-founder of the Channel Islands Treasurer's Association. From 2018 to 2022 Niall was a Judge on the Private Asset Manager Awards (the UK’s leading investment awards) chairing the Sustainable Investment and UHNW Total Wealth Solutions sub-committees.
Initially trained as an interpreter, Niall now translates industry jargon into plain language!
Niall Husbands commented "Altair's offering is genuinely compelling, and it is exciting to be part of an unconflicted team of experts to offer perspective and insight."
Mike Farley, partner of Altair, added "Niall has joined us in response to demand for the unique solutions Altair offers its clients. In addition to Altair's independent director services, he will focus on our consultancy offering, working with fiduciaries and family offices.”
