Phil joined Altair in May 2023. Prior to this, Phil spent 16 years as the lead audit partner of the Jersey member firm of a global audit network. Before this he spent two years as the head of funds with an international fiduciary business, where he sat on the board of a number of fund entities, and prior to this he spent nine years with a big 4 audit firm in both Jersey and Sydney.
His client base predominantly consisted of investment funds – ranging from very private through to listed and covering both regulated to unregulated structures. His particular focus was on private equity and real estate asset classes, however over the years his clients have included a whole spectrum of entities. Alongside these he has worked extensively with a broad selection of local regulated Fund and Trust Company businesses – both in terms of the corporate groups themselves, as well as many underlying clients.
Additionally, he was actively involved in the provision of business advisory and restructuring services, including financial due diligence projects, some involving the acquisition of local regulated businesses, as well as the group reorganisations and liquidations of numerous companies. He has a pragmatic and hands on approach to his clients and regularly advises them on complex matters relevant to them.
Phil is on the board of a London premium listed fund with focus on European credit opportunities, the regulatory arm of an international stock exchange, as well as holding roles on private equity fund vehicles.
Phil is a fellow of the institute of chartered accountants of England and Wales.
